The holidays are here once more. The best of the season to you and your loved ones.
In today’s blog I have a gift for you (at the very bottom), and some offerings to help you nurture your body temple during the festivities so that fitness in the New Year is not a struggle.
Soon I will be hearing people speaking of New Year’s resolution. As a Personal Trainer I always see an influx of people in January, wanting to burn off the pounds that they built up during that season. This may not be you, but I know it is going to happen in this big wide world. I honour all of you who are committed to lifelong fitness! I wish that for everyone.
I remember in the days when I was just getting into fitness and gradually losing some of the excess weight I carried around as a teenager and the guilt that I felt at Christmas time after consuming the chocolates and cakes and extra stuffing. I could never get enough of them, I loved it. I didn’t need to overeat, but I soon learned that the guilt lasted way longer and affected my likelihood of falling off the wagon.
Some people think that personal trainer’s just workout through the festivities and deny themselves the treats that are so tempting at this time. I can tell you that I am not perfect and will be enjoying some of these delights, and most importantly I will not let myself feel an ounce of guilt about it. I will be blessing everything I eat before it goes in my belly anyway!
